Wrt to the bodychecking let me put a scenario (true) to the group.

I was recently approaching the automatic turnstiles to an underground (tube) station in London. I noticed a guy loitering near to the adjacent turnstile to the one I planned to use.

The manner in which he was loitering suggested to me that he planned to "tailgate" me through the turnstile as I used my ticket.

I presented my ticket to the turnstile and the barriers opened. The instant I passed the open barriers I deliberately came to a halt. The miscreant collided into the back of me, rebounded and got caught in the closing barriers. Suffice it to say that in the resulting man vs machine contest - the result was man-0 machine-1
