Right Side you can see Inland Impire, Big Bear Mt., Vegas if approch is right, Dowtown, Hollywood, the giant smoke plumes from fires in the mountians ....and so on. LA is too spread out to not have a car. I wouldn't advise using public transportation even to locals let alone ppl from out of country. Cabs are pricey and traffic is well if you don't know then your in for a treat Otherwise have fun enjoy the weather.
