What memories this thread brings! I once lived in Tehran and flew PA 1 and PA2 very often. The routing would often be altered for odd reasons, sometimes karachi, sometimes Delhi, BKK etc. I no longer remember why those changes took place but I think they had soem stops that were not daily, so the routing always included some cities, with lower frequencies for others.

As an aside I was on a DL flight from DTW to FLL day before yesterday and talked with an FA who remembered me from PA 1 & 2. She was "of a certain age" and so am I. There may even be a little more to that story. PA 1 & 2 spawned lots of adventures.
