If you take it enjoy the HNL based crew, they have a well deserved reputation, and they are a dying breed. There are even a few Pan Am vets still flying, and to make a long story short, my mother trained Pan Am FA's in Miami in the early 70's and one of those FA's is with United, based in HNL, is still flying, and remembers my Mom! Small world.
I believe the labor agreement lets the old timers stay, but once they are gone, no more HNL based crew. They are usually pretty happy to strike up a conversation about the unique set up they enjoy, the camaraderie, etc.
