Your chances aren't very high - I'm afraid AA Gold doesn't have an equivalent BA status and is below BA Silver (AA Plat) or BA Gold (AA Exec Plat). So to be upgraded, you'd need all of the following to happen

- the WT cabin to be full/oversold
- there to be space in CW (WT+ often full, but they bump WT+ pax to CW, to make room for WT pax to be bumped to WT+)
- there not to be many higher status pax travelling solo in WT who would probably be given precedence over you.

That's not to say it won't happen.

Of course, you could always ask how much they'll charge to upgrade you when you check in. There's a thread on that subject somewhere here; it could be as little as USD 250 I think. Depends hugely on how full the plane is, though.
