I do give him credit for getting the players to mesh and play together for him, I think that is the hardest part of the national team, the player are just not used to each other, except for Spain where most of the starting lineup was from the same team, they practice and play together for 10 months out of the year.
When I was in BA in April, I was chatting with a taxi driver who went on and on about how crazy Diego was, and that the team would blow up, etc etc.
