Will Starwood honor a reservation for a hotel that isn't "open" yet? (Milan)
Sounds like an absurd question, but I have a non-refundable reservation for the new Sheraton Milan Airport for the end of Sept that I made about a month ago. Since the time I made the ressie, the website blurb has changed the date of the opening from mid Sept to Oct 1.
The reservation is still listed for me in upcoming stays and I have not received any contact from Starwood that it is cancelled. My credit card has not been charged.
Is it possible that they may have accepted a few reservations just to get the hotel up and running and tested out before the Oct 1 open, or will they wait until just before I get there to advise I have no room? I will be traveling for two weeks beforehand and won't be checking email much.
I really hope I could be a tester guest as I would love to stay in the terminal and not have to deal with shuttles at 5:30 am.
