After many years of silver or better (including plat currently as a result of more travel and DEQM last year) I'm faced with the likelihood that I won't make silver this year, at least not without a year end mileage run and/or use of some of the FEQM in my Presidential Plus account.

As I understand things, I will still be plat until the end of February 2011. I also understand that if I fly enough (i.e., mileage runs and/or use of FEQM) in January-February 2011 to qualify for Silver (or higher) I will have that status both for the remainder of 2011 as well as for 2012 up thru Feb 2013.

(Am I correct in those assumptions???)

If I'm correct it seems that rather than mileage runs and using FEQM this year, I should do so in January-February of next year. I will still have plat benefits (i.e., increased likelihood of upgrades on domestic) and the miles I earn will carry me for an additional year, into Feb 2013. Am I missing something?
