I have for many years considered the shiny bagtags to be, well a bit tacky and "Look at me! I'm a status pax". It has also been a bit of a snob debate here on FT that a real frequent flyer will not show a tag
Yesterday for my weekly shorthaul with SK I thought, what the h*ll and attached my golden tag on my carry-on (laptop bag). What an amazing difference, I was surprised ^
The security crew at the airport smiled and for once didn't shower me with patronising comments such as: "do you have a laptop in that?", "Any liquids?", "Have you removed your belt?", "Any cell phone on you?".
A good start
When boarding the SK airplane, I saw the purser looking at the tag. Now, SK crew are normally very friendly but this time I think even more so. Maybe my imagination?
So I have changed my mind, I will from now on always carry the shiny tag on my carry-on. However, I realise that the tag will have a less effect at BA camps as LHR.
