The easiest for me has been the miles earning debit card. Virtually all my bills get paid with it (even my garbage man, about my last hold out for real checks, went online bill paying last month) leaving just one or two monthly bills that do not go to the debit card.
I could be even more rabid about it, still prefer using cash for small purchases when it's faster, but quite happy with the monthly posting of thousands of miles with no additional effort at all.
Thanks for the debit card tip. That's a good idea. Yeah, I don't buy GCs to satisfy the entire $1,500, just to top off my normal spending (gas, food, golf, etc) to make sure I reach teh $1,500 within the first statement.
