Later this week, I have a connection in FRA which looks rather tight. I'm arriving on the AA6576 (operated by BA, dep LHR 10.40, arr FRA 13.20) and connecting to the AA83 (dep FRA 14.25, arr ORD 16.50).

From what I have read, the 1h 5m connection at FRA doesn't look that easy and I am wondering if there's anything I can do to plan and prepare in case my chance of making the flight to ORD are slim.

I will only have hand luggage which should make things a bit easier but I have no idea what the connection BA-AA will be like at FRA (I've only travelled with Star Alliance through FRA before). Similarly, I am wondering if there are any other Oneworld flights I could get on to get me to ORD the same day - would AA do this if there were seats available?
