I did just that actually. Ended up booking a room at the Greenleaf Inn. It appears to be very close to where I think the ferry leaves from and gets good reviews on TripAdvisor. Hopefully it will be a nice place. If anyone has any experience staying there I wouldn't mind hearing about your impressions. Thanks.
Spent a night at the Greenleaf Inn this past weekend and I thought I would report back in case anyone is interested. Unfortunately we didn't get to spend a whole lot of time at the Inn, but we thought it was nice and would definitely stay there again if we needed to be in Boothbay Harbor. The location of the Inn is very convenient for walking around town, you would not need a car to get to most places. It was only about a 1-2 min. walk to the area where the ferries dock.
Our room was very comfortable and had a nice view of the water. We also thought breakfast was very good.
