The sales people can be very convincing, but most of us who have owned Marriott Timeshare resorts do not believe the new Destination Points Program is a very good value proposition. If you can get a good discounted rate for your stay, it is worth attending the presentation. I highly recommend checking the discussions at the Timeshare User Group if you are considering a timeshare purchase or rental.

Note: I own five weeks of MVC timeshares and am very happy with my home resorts. With the new system, you do not have a home resort and the fees are more expensive.
