Economics 101 says there is no such thing as a free lunch. Every hotel chain gets it's money back through room & other charges. So those disappearing towels, pens, pads, and whatever else is not tied down has been factored into the room cost. Likewise gratis toothpaste ( or the tooth brush a RI gave my forgetful son a few months ago ). That said, I was very appreciative of not having to go out and acquire one for him, so it was a fair deal for both parties.
