AA schedule change. Do I have any good options?
With BA miles, we booked MGA-MIA-DFW-PDX: Dec 14, depart 8:35 am, arrive PDX 8:35 pm.
Now it's changed to depart 8:45 am, arrive PDX 11:25 pm. The connections are over 3 hrs at MIA and almost 4 hrs at DFW, then we have a 2-1/4 hr drive home. AA doesn't offer better flights as they only serve PDX from DFW. However using AS, AA shows slightly better times (with availability): MGA-MIA-LAS-PDX, arrives PDX at 10:30 pm. I called BA and they say NO, I cannot use both AS and AA. They offered to refund miles with no fee, but I don't want to do that.
Any suggestions to improve our flights? If not, can I ask BA for anything like a hotel at PDX or bonus miles?
