Those are two separate issues. The OP was discussing the merits of flash on smartphone-type devices, regardless of who writes the code or who decides to install it. The philosophical issue of a vendor's, Apple's or anyone else's, control of its platform is another one. Let's keep that to its own threads, some of which belong in the "religion" category of OMNI/PR.
