On the other hand, Kyoto has a very useful bus system and the Brighton is not on any of the useful lines. You would have to walk up to Imadegawa to find a stop. That is not too far and I agree about the location otherwise. Right across the street from the Imperial Palace Park and at the edge of the Nishijin textile district. Great for just wandering around.

I think you would be happy with either property. The Brighton is as described and has a world-class chef in the main restaurant. The ANA is across from Nijo Castle on Horikawa-dori with subway and bus stops immediately at hand.
