I think a rope that clips well inside the bulkhead walls (so the casual person can't easily unclip it) would be better - but it could be a hassle for crews moving between the cabins, especially with carts. Perhaps an updated curtain that doesn't part in the center with a discreet sign that says "Sorry, Cabin Crew Only Beyond This Point" or something like that.
