Tacky is right. It goes with the territory. If you've ever been to haute Dubai, you'll get this in spades. The Burj al-Arab hotel is possibly the tackiest, yet most expensive, place I've ever seen, and the new Ritz-Carlton in Moscow is running a close second IMO.

Is it just me, or does every single one of those photos bring the movie "Barbarella" to mind?
