Never mind that I called to let them know in advance, and never mind that is in the record, and never mind that it is also in the record that I have a cellular phone, but they call my home number and leave a message there, and when I have not called them back within 24 hours, they block my credit card! This has happened more than once. AMAZING!
You have reason to be "irritated". Happened to me also with Citi, even though i was only traveling in the US.
But I never had any problems with Chase or AMEX
