Odd question...

I booked a couple of US flights on expedia for friends recently. Made an error with one of their first names(Clare instead of Claire).

Called up Expedia & US Airways about a name change and they both said they would stick a note on the account about the name error and i would not have to pay a name change fee however on MMB it will still show as incorrect unless i want to pay the change fee.

I want to sign up my friends for DM, or another *A FF scheme and i was wondering if ill still earn miles for the friend on this flights whose first name is slightly wrong. Hopefully as the inital and surname is correct i should be fine?

What do you think? Does the FF and ticket name have to match exactly?
