maybe you can enlighten me on Mexico. Most of what they think is really based on what they have heard and the info that I feed them. Theirs and my experience is mostly based on Los Cabos where I got married two years ago. However that's probably not even fair since we were all so busy with the wedding we didn't really leave the resort much at all.

So what they are trying to avoid is just never leaving the resort. In Hawaii they feel that they can go somewhere new everyday and it will be an interesting sight and enjoyed by kids and adults. Also the infrastructure and resorts make Hawaii relatively easy to do.

I have focused more on the puerto vallarta area in large part because they have high end resorts in Punta Mita and its easy to get too. It does seem like they have some good activities like the dolphin encounter and a trip to an island and perhaps renting a private boat. I haven't seen much in land activities which sound really worthwhile except for the canopy tour which the kids can't do.

I haven't really read of places you could just drive to and see like you would in Hawaii. Things like Waimea Canyon, the volcano or the road to hana. If there is somehwere in mexico that offers a lot more than beach and boats then please let me know.
