I think they like the aspect of Hawaii that things are easy to do because driving is easy and this is important with kids. They want to seem some interesting things which is why they are kind of against a caribbean island. They are against Hawaii because they feel they have been there to many times. They will be staring in Houston and need to end up in Moab, Utah. They are trying to keep flights and connections to a minimum. Budget is not a huge deal within reason. Most of the places seem to be in the $500-$700 range per night.
My initial thought was Costa Rica. Or perhaps Belize. I have ruled out most of Central AMerica though now due to the amount of rain in October.
At this point the leading candidate seems to be Punta Mita Mexcio. Though I am not sure they are thrilled with this. Nobody can find any better though. There is some thought of just going back to Hawaii, though the long flight and the fact it will be the 5th time are holding them back. I also can't find any decent award flights in F to hawaii.
How many Hawaiian islands have they visited? They could try a new one.
