It doesn't to me, it sounds paranoid. If they were curtailing travel to the area in question , that would make perfect sense.

There can't be many days when everywhere in the world is considered safe to travel too. Does that mean that all travel should be banned all the time?

I think the issue at hand is the uncertainty of the situation, not paranoia. I didn't design the policy, so I really couldn't tell you for sure. But if you have employees stranded in another country when war breaks out, there's bound to be some issues that the company doesn't want to deal with.

I can understand and respect most of the different opinions on here (the ones that are civil). These are just some strange times globally and I guess some businesses are more cautious than others. I don't see that as a reason to try and stick the company with change fees -- that is unless AA sticks me with them first.
