Sounds like you have a ton of money set aside to keep 1K. Are there places you really want to visit in the next year? Do you mind adding a few extra stops along the way?

If those $$s are not dedicated to air travel, you may want to look at dropping to 1P instead of hitting 1K. If you're flying in a lot of K fares to SYD, 1P is ostensibly 50% less painful on your butt

The big thing for me is the fully refundable award tickets. It's a lot easier to book trips I'm 80% sure with on UA. These are trips I would ordinarily book on WN because of their liberal change/cancel policy.
