Equipment Change Screwed Me Over to the Point of Tears

I woke up this morning to an email from Emirates Thailand office.

It stated that my November BKK - DXB, and DXB - BKK flights aboard the a380, had undergone an equipment change.

I had literally planned my entire trip from Canada to Asia around flying EK F on the a380. It was the primary purpose of my trip and what led me to Dubai in the first place.

Not only have they replaced equipment on BOTH my flights, but replaced the equipment from the a380 to the 777-300 - the OLD F configuration - NOT the 77-300ER with the new config! OMFG! I paid DOUBLE the price that TG was offering for this trip in F, solely to experience the best that EK had to offer.

I cannot even change my flights to a380 flights since the a380 flights are now leaving at like 3 in the morning! What would be the point of that?! Furthermore, I can hopefully change my DXB-BKK flight to a 777-300ER, but not the BKK-DXB flight because those flights too are middle of the night flights!

I realize equipment changes are part of life, but why replace the a380 with the old config?? This goes from one extreme to the other!

What is going on that caused such dramatic changes to the timetable and equipment?

Does anyone have any comments or thoughts on whether it is even worth going out of my way to fly on the old F config or should I just switch to Thai completely?
