I kept my AA acount with U.S. address while based in Cork, Ireland. Like was previously posted, I got a lot more targeted promo's having a U.S. address.

I also did not have any trouble earning miles with BA or EI, but I did all transAtlantic with AA, and EU travel for business was on Y fare.

As a PLAT I had only great experiences using the Dublin office to book some award tickets for ORK-ATH at Christmas time. Everything worked smooth and I think I maximized my earnings potential by keeping the U.S. Address and avoiding EI and BA programs.

As for statements, I had a PO Box that forwarded my mail to Ireland, but half-way through my 18 month stay the e-system was started, and I haven't looked at a paper statement since (even now that I've returned to the U.S.)
