I'm still confused about this. If I gift miles, don't the bonus miles post to MY account?
An example. (I am a citi card holder, so eligible for 4,000 mile bonus per 10,000 purchased.) I buy 40k miles for myself and I gift 40k to my wife. Isn't the end result this:
Wife's account: +40,000 miles.
My account: +72,000 miles (40,000 purchased miles plus 16,000 bonus miles on the purchase, plus 16,000 bonus miles on the gift).
