Yes, for your purposes, the SkyMiles are preferable.

You have to select the right flights, which the website doesn't make easy. On the outbound, there is only a single flight at the low level and the only return flights at the medium level involve a connection. Unfortunately, the website seems to be displaying the wrong price on the initial screen, showing the early flight out as 42.5k. Choose it anyway and the next screen will show the right prices. This itinerary comes in at 32.5k miles:
