I would prefer something like changing the diamond qualification threshold to points only since gold status benefits are already very strong. Add one or two goodies to the diamond status and get rid of the ridiculous credit card gold and diamond status...and you have a great program. I think that would also take care of most of the European frequent travelers since the price for the average Hilton night in Europe is above the average of the US I would guess (even using a 1:1 exchange rate).
