Particularly in CW!
I might be wrong, but I think it was Smirnoff who said as a gold, with the seating policy he's never had it so good. Nor have I. Point being, I don't think we're the majority, and now that BA's gone down this road for so long, I can't imagine any reverse enhancements are imminent. A bit of a conundrum, isn't it, given that one is actually paying for a seat on an aircraft for point-to-point transport.
I do some long-haul each year, mostly leisure trips. As a silver/gold I've always had a wide open selection months before departure, I don't know how many times I've been in my favourite 62K.
It makes me sad that BA most certainly loses money with this policy. Tickets paid with cash (regardless of booking class) in a premium cabin should entitle to seat selection at the time of the booking.
Yes I know that I will probably be flamed by Silver/Golds for this opinion but I think it's business suicide to alienate potential cash paying premium pax without status. Ok, OT and this has been discussed many times during my short 2 years in this forum
