The B6 memo states that five minutes elapsed between when the aircraft blocked in and when the slide deployed. I'm not certain of this specific aircraft, but many newer ones have an indicator in the cockpit that shows the status of the doors, so if it had been armed for several minutes after arrival it may have been noticed by the pilots.
If passengers were deplaning at the time then my understanding is that the door would have necessarily been re-armed or that the cross-check was not done correctly. I'm pretty sure that all doors must be disarmed before any are opened.
