Just passed through NRT with JAL and found the lounge to be perfectly o.k. Not up to the Wing (CX) but certainly better than AC's. We were in JAL first and actually preferred it to CX on balance. Service was impeccably perfect. Food, if you like Japanese cuisine, was superb. My wife chose western meals and the beef out of Tokyo was remarkably good. The turkey Christmas dinner was not great but JAL gets high marks for trying. First cabins were a bit tatty but in my estimation easily the best designed in the air. I will be posting a trip report in the not too distant future.
