I haven't flown CX, but people here all seem to swear by it. JAL's not what it once was (or perhaps the J treatment has lost the impact of my memories of a more impressionable age? ) although I have not been in J with them in a couple of years either.

90K for a r/t J award? We use 50K to upgrade from Coach, so might be better off using miles if we requalify for Plat early. (Is that a standard award?)
