Parallel Boarding - UA experiment in BOS

Walked past a gate (C18) at BOS and saw a sign announcing "Parallel Boarding" for UA181
highlights
- 6-sigma experiment for 757
- After 1Ps/*G, the UA would board rows 30-34 and then Seating area 1, 2, 3, 4
- Theory is this is to improve over all boarding time
- Assured elites boarding in Seating area 1 -- that their bags, if not oversized, would not be gate checked

Has any seen/eperienced this experiment before -- was not my flight

BTW, everything out of BOS today was overbooked

a poor photo of the sign
