Off topic from MM benefits, but in regards to dropping FO. I think it is unlikely that DL will drop FO all together. Other airlines have a 25K FF level. It would be very disadvantageous to have your first FF level at 50K.
That said, of course FO will not amount to much but free luggage. But we all saw that coming with addition of DM to the lineup. Not to repeat the endless discussions here, but instead of giving really novel benefits to DMs, DL just devalued the lower tiers and gave me back (some) what I had as a NWA PE all along...
