Wife and I stayed at the Hotel Alexandra over New Years. Easy commute to the airport with train/metro and in a nice, quiet neighborhood. Maybe a 10 minute walk down to Las Ramblas so you're close enough if you want to be part of that but far enough that you don't have to be. The property was nice and well maintained. Good restaurants in the area. Overall, I'd definitely consider it again, assuming the rate was reasonable.
