I will be travelling to Europe (Schengen countries) for 2 weeks. I will be staying in Switzerland as the longest stay; 1 day in Zurich, 4 days in Bern (Interlaken and somewhere near by if time is permitted), 1 day in Paris, 1 day in Lugao. I am not too sure how long I will be on the train as I think I may probably waste my time travelling around by train which might be around extra few days from those travel dates planned.
Thus, I will have probably 4-5 days departing from Lugano to Italy (Rome-Milan). I have no idea if with 4-5 days left to travel from Lugano to Italy (Rome-Milan) by plane will allow enough time for me to see a couple things in those places in Italy or not. In addition, if I have enough time to make it there, I have to take the train back to Zurich to leave for my flights back home. Could you please advise the time spent/stayed in each place is enough to make it on those 3 countries in each areas/places?
If yes, would you please advise what type of the train tickets would be best to travel around with my 2 weeks stay in Schengen countries? I consider to have the overnight stay on the plane when travelling from Interlaken to Paris, Paris-Lugano, Lugano-Rome/Milan if possible
I appreciate your help
Whoah! I think you might have mixed up your
train and
plane
Your first task should be to consult the European rail timetables
here and work out an itinerary which will answer many of your own questions.
As to best tickets, there are plenty experts on this forum who can advise you after your schedule is finalised!
