i thought i was pretty clear and toneless when i said discussion here is going to be old.... to be even more clear - as in look at posts going back to 2003, which is IIRC when this forum was created on FT

im frankly tired of the personal discussions, which are against FT TOS

yes sometimes things are moved (discussion of mod is also against FT TOS) or people suggest posting elsewhere on FT, when it really is best posted here, but the MAJORITY of the time (after a couple years you will agree) it is indeed correct and simply trying to be helpful

as is the subject of other threads, this is THE best forum on the internet

If anyone has any specific knowledge of the facts as to when/why so many of the larger high-end chains left the group, I'd love to know.

Search on FT is renowned for its unreliability, so that's the super old news - older than the news that LHW was losing members. However, to give props where they're due, I didn't know that you could type in "site:flyertalk.com peninsula lhw" on Google, so thanks for that nubbin.

im not sure about that, and i dont need to be "well respected" - i just try to contribute helpful information, because i rarely post first hand reports.
