There should be a time stamp on the PNR which confirms the time you were at the gate based on the GA rebooking your res. Depending on the actions of the gate agent, and the record, you could request IDB compensation. If the flight went out full, this may not be possible.
I can't see any circumstances where IDB could be claimed if you fail to be at the gate 15 mins before departure.
If you are not there then you've lost that possibility.
