Kindle 'shutdown' is pointless because its actually off unless you turn the page. the 'display' is a static image that consumes power when it needs to change. regardless, FA's do not like seeing things you can read that are not dead trees.
I also love the people who get really really smart, and explain to me, "OMG! Whats wrong with RECEIVING a signal?! Don't they know its not the same?!" .. thats because all receivers are transmitters too. @:-)

Whatever gets people to turn the crap off. The last thing you need is to tell a bunch of people thinking they are sneaky that there is absolutely no accountability or penalty for their actions.

Hahahaha, a science! Like anyone really knows that. I swear, some people seem to think that airlines just decide to sell tickets to random destinations in hopes that maybe they might fly there someday, load up airplanes haphazardly with random amounts of fuel like you would a car, barges onto the runway and takes off in hopes of not hitting something, has to try to fly to a destination with no regard to fuel, routes, dispatch, air traffic control, etc. with no idea how to get there. Only about 4 planes are over the world at any given time. The plane is at risk of falling out of the sky. Make some landing that has never been attempted before in the history of mankind. And of course, every landing is the worst landing ever, even though the passenger never flies anyway.
Its amazing how many adults are completely mystified and afraid of air travel due to the above.
