I hope they will choose Oneworld ( as without LAN and MX ( if they go down) OW does not have that good a coverage in South America ( the few non stops on BA/IB exlcuded).

Agree with TBS. LAN is a really good airline. Don't have experience with TAM, but I don't think their reputation is as good as LAN's.
Enrique Cueto (current LAN and future LATAM CEO) is quoted as saying in Air Transport Intelligence that the alliance question "will be an issue we will decide in the future".
