After a bit of advice about in and around Lignano Sabbiadoro.

We will be arriving into VCE on 31OCT10 and were planning on hiring a car (4 adults, one piece of luggage each) and driving into Lignano Sabbiadoro and staying there till 07NOV10. We need to be there for the above dates, thats completely locked in. Then we are planning to head to Rome to do some sighseeing for a few days then leaving via FCO.

A couple of questions if I may!

1. What would I expect to pay for hire car (regular sedan big enough for 4 adults) for the 7 days? We plan to pick up / drop off the car at VCE.
2. From Lignano Sabbiadoro, is it easy enough to get a train to Venice to have a look around for a day that we will have free? Or would we be better off to drive to Venice and back?
3. We've found www.lignano.it which has some 2 bedroom furnished apartments for 300 Euro / week. Has anyone used this website or has any experience with renting short term apartments in this area? The price seems quite good and the pictures seem ok but I'd be really annoyed if the place turned out to be a dump!
4. On the 7th we plan to head to Rome for a few days to do some sighseeing. At this stage there will be 7 of us, with one in an electric wheelchair. Getting to Rome from Lignano Sabbiadoro, are we best to catch a train?
