Has anyone had any luck with cancelling existing service and then opening a new account?

I see it says for "new customers only" but if I call up and cancel, does that make me new?

I only thought of this as they tell me my existing setup does not support the whole-house dvr service. So I figured I am well past my 2 year contract so I could just send everything I have with them now back, then sign up for new 2 year service and get some miles thrown in to boot.

Actually I guess I could put it in my wife's name then it definitely is a new customer
