Actually, the colour of the male flight attendant's tie and the female flight attendant's "Sarong Kebaya" uniform corresponds to their respective position or seniority level, not their cabin assignment.

Purple represents the In-Flight Supervisor/Purser
Red represent the Chief Steward/Stewardess
Green represents the Leading Steward/Stewardess
Cobalt Blue represents the Flight Steward/Stewardess

(And before I get flamed for being un-PC and using the word Steward/Stewardess, that is actually what is written on their name badges)
