Agreed... but I bet there are still a significant number of people who will crack the 3 million mark. That threshold is clearly intended for the serious international traveller, and perhaps the domestic pass-holder assuming AC recognizes those miles for lifetime status. 12 months of latitude NA pass nets 180,000 Status Miles. Combined with a couple of overseas trips, that works out to 15 years to reach lifetime SE status.
I think the levels are appropriate, and certainly consistant with other programs such as UA. American is not a good comparison, since they top out at mid-tier status for 2 milllion miles (status and otherwise). I doubt I will ever make more than 1 million status miles with AC, but it is always nice to dream and have something to look forward to.
