Care should be taken throughout Latin America as many countries change their exit taxes often. Many times even though taxes were included when you bought the ticket you will be required to pay the difference between what you payed and the new higher rate. Even worse once I had to pay the entire tax again in CCS because between when I bought the ticket and when I traveled the government had decreed that taxes must be payed in cash in Bolivars. I attempted to get a refund from AA for the taxes I had payed through them, but they would only issue me a travel credit valued in Bolivars..Useless to me because it was only redeemable at the airport (CCS or MAR).
