I'd take considerable comfort knowing that I refused to live my life as a coward would by selling out a higher principle for a lower one,
viz. foresaking liberty for security.
ETA: as a non-FTer pointed out to me just now, if we're all hot and bothered about the greater good and given that skyjacking is an *extremely* rare event, then for the sake of convenience of millions shouldn't we accept the distributed, totally voluntary risk of a horrifying death? We accept far riskier propositions every day that we climb into a car and with nary a whit of concern.
