I would propose breaking it up a bit more than that into, for example:
LGA-Upper East Side
JFK-Upper East Side
LGA-Upper West Side
EWR-Chelsea
JFK-DUMBO
etc.
That way, each thread would remain fairly specific and provide useful information to visitors who read it. It'd also make it easier for NYers to know at a glance which threads they might best contribute to.
Open to other thoughts, of course.
