If you only have an hour to make it to Amtrak from MSP, I would be more worried about making it to Amtrak ontime than anything else. Especially if you have bags to wait for.

There is a good possiblity your bags will still make it. I have had flights on DL before from CVG where I was on the ground for a half hour and had to from the A concourse and take the shuttle to the C comair concourse rushing due to my original flight coming in so late and had my bags still make it on the plane.

I can tell you that you are in another city other than where your bag is, it can be a pain, so make sure you have at least two days worth of clothes in your carryon. I live only 1 hour from DTW in Toledo, and once Delta had my bag delayed and it took 3 days to get it to me. This was back when NWA was still around and once the bag finally got to DTW, Delta had it shipped via NW and then it was sent to my house via a courier service. Another time I was on WN and they just had a courier deliver it. It is expensive to fed ex, so it's possible AA will use another method to get it to you if there is an airport close to you that other airlines service.
